Decathlon, a major multinational sports retailer recently opened their first store in Ireland at Holywood Exchange, Belfast. Decathlon stores cover the entire spectrum of sports and operate ‘take away today’ on all products, including the following:

• Treadmills and Cross Trainers
• Table Tennis Tables
• Multigyms and Weights Benches
• Bikes
• Trampolines

The proposition of taking these goods away today offers a huge advantage over their competitors operating to several weeks leadtimes, but the majority of customers do not have access to a means of transport to get these items home safely. Decathlon required a cost effective home delivery solution for their customers across Ireland.

The Breezemount Solution:

Our existing 2 man delivery network in Ireland and our industry experience allowed Breezemount to design a solution. Customers opt for home delivery on products based on a delivery zone matrix that offers a more competitive home delivery than most online options for similar products.

Home Delivery is booked with Decathlon and the details are sent electronically to Breezemount. The Breezemount Booking System is updated and customer contact is made within 48 hours. Our 7 day delivery operations allow us to offer a mutually convenient delivery to the customer, with time window confirmed prior to delivery. Goods are then collected from Decathlon and stored in our secure warehouse prior to customer delivery.

On the day of delivery the 2 man crew will confirm the delivery window and contact the customer approximately an hour prior to delivery, ensuring they can plan other activities during the day. The 2 man delivery crew deliver the items to a suitable room of choice and a Breezemount POD is completed for the delivery. Deliveries across Ireland are completed within a maximum of 10 days from booking, with weekly client reporting on all deliveries.
